NEET 2019 Eligibility Criteria (MBBS & BDS) Requirements
NEET 2019 Eligibility Criteria: A candidate must have two years of regular and continuous study of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology, and English to be eligible for NEET 2019. Also should have passed in these subjects individually in 10+2. Candidates can check minimum percentage required in these subjects according to their categories below, as per NEET 2019 Eligibility Criteria. Marks obtained in Mathematics are not to be considered for admission for appearing in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET for MBBS / BDS courses. Lower age limit for applying is 17 years and Upper age limit is 25 years. There is a relaxation of 5 years for Schedule Caste (SC), Schedule Tribe (ST), and Other Backward Classes (OBC).
NEET 2019 MBBS & BDS Requirements
Candidates can note that the NEET 2019 UG Eligibility Criteria to appear for the test will be separate from the eligibility for admissions. NEET UG is the only medical entrance test in India for admissions to MBBS & BDS courses and will be run in 11 languages. NEET 2019 Minimum Age Limit
- Students have to complete 17 years as on December 31, 2019.
- Students have to be born on or before January 1, 2003.
NEET 2019 Maximum Age Limit
25 years till date of test for unreserved students; 30 years till date of exam for reserved category Students.
Unreserved students have to be born on or after May 7, 1994 and reserved students have to be born on or after May 7, 1989.

NEET 2019 Qualifications & Qualifying Exam Codes
Aspirants who will be appearing in Class 12 Board Exam or whose result is expected are qualified to appear for NEET 2019.
If an aspirant unable to pass the qualifying exam with the necessary pass percentage of marks, then he/she will not be fit for admissions.
The Senior Secondary Education or the Indian School Certificate exam following a period of 12 years’ education, where the last 2 years of such study comprise Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology or Mathematics or any additional elective subject with core-level English. Aspirants essential have undertaken TWO years of regular and uninterrupted study of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology at 10+2 level. Aspirants who have passed 10+2 from Open Schools or as private aspirant shall not be qualified to appear. Additionally, study of Biology/Bio-technology as other at Class 12 level is also not permissible.
The Intermediate/Pre-degree Exam in science as presented by an Indian University/Board or other recognised examining body with Physics, Chemistry, Biology /Bio-technology and also English as compulsory subjects.
The Pre-professional/Pre-medical exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology & English after passing either the Higher Secondary Exam or the Pre-University or an equivalent exam. This will also comprise the practical tests in these subjects and also English as a compulsory subject.
The 1st year of the three years degree course from a recognised University with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Bio-technology as well as with practical tests and core-level English.
Aspirant must have passed B.Sc. from an Indian University with not less than 2 of the subjects with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology)/Bio-technology. Not only this, the aspirant must have cleared the previous qualifying exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
Except for the said exam, any examination which is discovered to be equivalent to the intermediate science exam of an Indian University/Board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as compulsory subjects will be considered. It must also comprise practical tests in every subject.
Eligibility for 15% All India Quota Seats
Aspirants have to be Indian Nationals, Non Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizen of India (OCIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Foreign Nationals.
Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States
Aspirants from the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be contributing in the NEET All India Quota scheme. Aspirants from these states are eligible for 15% AIQ seats with any self-declaration.
J & K States
Aspirants belong to J&K are not eligible for 15% All India Quota seats. They are eligible for 15% AIQ seats only for the admission to the AFMC, Pune on the basis of self-declaration. Aspirants from the States J & K can appear in NEET 2019 exam for admission to Private Medical/Dental Colleges or any Private/Deemed University & Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune.
Aspirants attending NEET 2019 need to confirm that they fulfil the above stated eligibility criteria of NEET 2019 to be able to appear for the test. Eligibility for 85% State Quota Seats
Each the states contributing in the NEET 2019 will fulfil their 85% seats via state counselling, whereas the remaining 15% of the seats will be full up via All India centralized counselling. The eligibility for the 85% are stated below-
- Aspirants should have finished/appearing their X and XI from the state.
- Aspirants have to hold a legal domicile in the state.
- Aspirant must have a residency evidence of the state.
